Ch. Beychevelle (0.75 L)
$1,650.00
NM:At first this wine showed a very mushroomy palate with a hot alcoholic finish, but ameliorated significantly in the glass. A classic, cedary, pencil-lead nose. Very Saint-Julien. The palate eventually comes together: medium-bodied, good concentration, ripe cassis, blackcurrant and cedar. Tobacco finish, which appears to be a little ragged. Not as harmonious as Las-Cases or Cos d’Estournel, but still just about drinking. Open within 2004. Tasted April 2004.
