Ch. Le Gay (0.75 L)
NM: Tasted blind at Southwold í»06 Bordeaux tasting. The nose has mellowed since I last encountered Le Gay out of barrel: ripe, fruit-driven nose with good definitioní¡Morello, redcurrant, wild strawberry and a touch of lime; lifted and feminine. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, saturated tannins, real sappy mouthfeel , silky towards the sensuous finish with beautifully integrated new oak, with notes of black cherries, black coffee and a touch of thyme/bay leaf towards the long and sensuous finish. Wonderful. Tasted January 2010.
