Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos (0.75 L)
BH:Discreet notes of anise, wood, freshly peeled citrus and a floral hint serve as an elegant introduction to the nicely voluminous, round and relatively dense medium-bodied flavors that possess an attractively textured mouth feel. There is a subtle minerality to the clean, solidly complex and moderately dry finish where a hint of bitter lemon surfaces. This is one of those particular 2013s that doesn’t necessarily display much in the way of classic Chablis character but the complexity, absence of exotic fruit and overall balance make it appealing all the same. In sum, this is lovely though clearly a creature of its vintage.
