Musigny (0.75 L)
BH:(with thanks to Doug Barzelay). This is still relatively primary with spicy and beautifully well-layered black fruit aromas that soar from the glass. As I noted in my original review, this is a muscular, even robust, wine yet one that remains stylish and classy and this observation remains true even 11 years later. As such, this is still on the way up and while it could be enjoyed now if allowed time in a decanter, for my taste I would advise continued cellaring for at least another 5 years and more than that is not out of the question. In sum, this is a really lovely wine that is displaying unusually good longevity in the context of a relatively forward vintage.
