Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Folatieres (0.75 L)

This was the only wine in bottle at the time of my tasting the nose was suffering from enough post-bottling reduction to overshadow the fruit. By contrast, there is a lovely sense of vibrancy and mid-palate volume to the nicely stony and appealingly textured medium-bodied flavors that flash fine balance on the lengthy finish. This could use better depth but that’s almost always true for the de Montille Folatières in its youth.
