Romanée Saint-Vivant (0.75 L)
BH This remains quite deeply colored with a still largely primary nose of ripe dark berry pinot fruit, plenty of spice and a hint of sandalwood. There is gorgeous complexity to the still moderately firm, intense and relatively powerful flavors that display striking complexity on the solidly structured but not hard finish that delivers outstanding length. This is turning out to be better than I originally foresaw and I have upgraded my score accordingly. As to drinkability, for my taste this has just now arrived at its peak though it should be capable of holding here for many years to come. Tasted a number of time recently and while I have had largely consistent experiences note there was one bottle that was quite badly reduced while requiring several hours for it to dissipate.
