Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru Baudes (0.75 L)

WA:The 2014 Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru les Baudes was picked on September 16 and includes 15% whole cluster. It has a very perfumed bouquet, refined and elegant with hints of violet and blueberry tincturing the red cherry fruit. The palate is crisp on the entry, a little tighter and sharper than the nose was implying and perhaps I was expecting a little more substance on the finish. Hopefully that will develop in time once bottled. The 2014s from Maison Joseph Drouhin were the only ones that I tasted outside Burgundy, in November 2015. This was because they conduct a tasting in a quiet, formal setting, V¿ªronique Drouhin is present and also, because I know that they spend four or five days assembling samples so that they are close to the what they believe will be the final blend.
