L’Extravagant de Doisy Daëne (0.375 L)

NM: Tasted with Denis Dubourdieu at the Chateau. The 2002 contains: 12.6% alcohol, 197gms/L sugar and 4.0gms/L total acidity. To me, it lacks just a little delineation on the nose, but there is patently an extraordinary level of purity with notes of acacia honey and even a touch of white truffle. The palate is actually more engaging than the nose. Viscous on the entry with racy acidity keeping this intense Barsac in balance, the 2002 has great volume and presence, leading to a gorgeous, sensual finish of dried honey, orange peel with touches of creme caramel lingering on the Aszu-like aftertaste.
